It has certainly been a long time since the last update and I am happy to read that the project is still alive and maturing well. I think the direction you are taking in your focus has a lot of potential and makes sense. I never could see the benefits in focusing on one small subject other than the fact it would be easier, but who is interested in an easy subject?
Also the narrower the focus the less relevant it would be.
I wish you all the best with your project and hope you have a great and productive fieldwork period.
